PARENT SERVICE AND INVOLVEMENT
We consider the gifts and talents of parents to be a vital and essential resource to our school, and an integral factor in keeping the tuition as low as possible. Families are required to perform at least four hours of service per month to the school for a total of forty hours for the school year. Therefore, all families are required to sign-up and participate in parent-service committees or pursue a service project approved by the principal. Examples of these are listed below:
- Monitoring recess
- Providing transportation or chaperoning for field trips, walking trips or camp
- Tutoring
- Picking up materials for the teacher from the library, museums, aquarium, etc.
- Helping in the office answering phones, typing and doing bulk mailings
- Volunteering as a classroom helper
- Helping on special school work days
- Other service that you can provide with your special gifts and talents
Home and School Association
Baltimore Christian School has a Home and School Association consisting of all parents or legal guardians of children presently attending Baltimore Christian School. The staff and board members are also considered members of the HASA and are invited to attend meetings when they can.
The purpose of HASA is to promote communication and Christian unity between the home and school, enhance the education of BCS students by helping meet the needs of the teachers (volunteers, materials, etc.), assist the Development Committee in raising funds needed to cover the difference between the tuition and cost of education, assist parents by sponsoring workshops, and provide a regular opportunity for the members of the BCS Board to receive input, ideas and encouragement from other parents.
For more information about HASA, please refer to the HASA Purpose Statement and Constitution available in the school office.
Safety
