Philosophy of Education

God is the Source of all truth.  His Word, the Bible, defines the elements of education:  wisdom, understanding, and knowledge.  Jesus freely gives his disciples wisdom to understand and use the knowledge they acquire.

God has revealed truth through Jesus and through His Word.  Every course of study is approached and investigated from the biblical perspective of God’s supremacy and man’s purpose to honor, glorify and delight in God.

Man, a sinner by nature, is unable to please God without divine help.  Through God’s saving grace, man can become a new creation and grow in conformity to His image.

The Christian school is a partner with the home and local Christian churches.  God gave parents- not the government, the school, or the church – the ultimate responsibility for a child’s education (Deuteronomy 6:5-7).  Local congregations assist parents in their God-given responsibilities by sponsoring many ministries for children.  These often include Sunday school classes, worship opportunities, Bible Clubs, and special summer programs for children. Baltimore Christian School complements and supplements parental training and the ministries of local congregations.

The purpose of Baltimore Christian School is to honor and glorify God by providing a quality education from a biblical perspective.

Our objectives are to work together with parents to develop in students’ academic competence, a godly character, and faith.  These three things are interrelated and are built simultaneously.  Without godly character, knowledge and skill are worthless.  Without faith in God, in one’s God-given worth and in one’s ability to learn, the development of competence is unlikely.  Parents are God’s primary agents for the training of children.
